I guess things are crazy. At least I am trying to blog once a week again, instead of saying I am going to blog EVERY DAY. Even I know that that isn't practical. So, here on Mostly Wordless Wednesday, I am going to overload you with photos of Makayla because well we all need something to smile at right?!?!
So, my brother in law got Makayla a car just because...and not just any car...
I car that I think looks a little like a porsche...
Makayla had to help put it together. "Me do daddy, me do!" Over and over she repeated...
Right after this picture was taken she had a heart to heart with me. "Mommy, get in, I drive you shopping." "Makayla, mommy doesn't fit." Makayla got out of her car, and said "Mommy, get in, we go shopping, and I push." Oh girlfriend, how much I love that you love to spend time with me. I can't wait for many more adventures with you. Happy Wednesday!

Hump Day, Fire Prevention Continues
Wow, look. Another week is halfway over! I cannot believe it. No wait, that means that if you are reading this that you have had a post a day so far. Man, I must really take advantage of nap time mroe often. Anyway, here are some more pictures from our trip to the Fire Station.
She was sad because we wouldn't let her wear the fire helmet, I was afraid it would crush her. It was even heavier than the coat.
This seal was on the floor on our way into the Fire Station. I wanted her to stand by it, she wanted to sit on it. I don't mind that she isn't looking at me, she is looking at the fire chiefs wife. I believe they got a better picture.
I cannot thank them enough for hosting this open house. I am hoping to do this again every year, and see her face light up as much as it did this year.
Hope you are having a super week! Don't forget to check or get your fire extinguisher checked!

Fire Prevention Week continues
So, now that Columbus Day is over, we are back to Fire Prevention Week. Here are some more pictures of Makayla from our visit to the Fire Station. I think the best part of it was that the kids were allowed, no wait, encouraged to climb on into the fire trucks. They had the batteries of them turned off so we didn't have to worry about any accidents, and as I was talking to some of the firemen, it will be fun when they actually turn them back on to see what will happen. I am glad I wasn't there for that! Anyway, Makayla loved to be able to go into the driver seat and drive the trucks. She kept telling me how they were stuck!
I love this last picture. She is so serious! One of the firemen noted how she would be perfect for a job as an engineer because of how serious her face is here.
Happy Tuesday! Don't forget to check your smoke detectors!

Fire Prevention Week
| Thank you Palmer Municipal Fire Department for hosting this open house! |
Part of the tour included looking at the firemen gear, and they even allowed you to try it on! Makayla couldn't wait, and was a trooper. Even though the coat weighed more than her!
She was so excited to be able to sit in EVERY.SINGLE fire truck as many times as she wanted. This was our first stop. This was before she realized she was allowed to "steer" them.
The worse part of the day was when we were leaving. Makayla didn't want to leave and she was tired, so she cried. Even the fire dog couldn't cheer her up! Stayed tuned for more pictures!
In the meantime, today is Columbus Day and Makayla and her cousin Shae are currently in the bathtub getting cleaned up to go on some mischievous adventures. No, not really, I am hoping to go to a Pumpkin Patch with them today. I will take my camera and make sure to take pictures! I hope you have a great Monday, it's chilly so bundle up!

It all happened at the zoo..
Well, or fair, or carnival or where ever else you were this weekend. Welcome back to the work week! I am sure you missed it, I know I did (not!). Anyway, I know I haven't blogged in a while and I want to start again, so I thought I would start with posting pictures from this weekend. Now my sister Rachel, over on her blog, usually ends up posting pictures of my daughter from events. I have to get better at carrying my camera to capture these moments, but sometimes, I am just living in the moments with her. Anyway, Friday we went to the Nazareth Carnival with her Godmother and her son. Here are some pictures from that.
Let me just tell you, I COULD NOT get her to get off of the Carousel!
Look at how much fun she is having! Last year when we went on vacation, she hated rides...this year...she <3 them.
Saturday, was her Godfather's graduation party from college. Yes, he graduated a while ago, but he wanted to wait until his friends who went to China came home. Anyway, I don't have pictures from there to post, as I am sure my sister took a bazillion pictures, but I do have this one.
Yep, that is my kid and yes, she is cleaning a boat!
Anyway, happy Monday. I better get ready for work, and yes, I was supposed to get up at 4:30 to go to the gym, but I thought sleep was more important. Have a GREAT Monday!

18 months
I cannot believe that my sweet lil lady is 18 months old today! Where did time go?!?! So, while I took an unintended hiatus from blogging (I haven't been able to run, so I didn't feel the need to blog) I did take some pictures of my daughter. I really need to carry my camera around more so that I don't share all of my photos on fb and/or instagram before I post them here. I do have some running updates and will resume blogging normally tomorrow (hopefully) but, in the meantime, here are some pictures of my sleeping pumpkin, and not so sleeping pumpkin.
Yes, she is wearing Philadelphia sports swag, and no I didn't dress her, YES, her FATHER put her in this outift
Bath time is one of her favorite times...
Checking out flowers
This cover-up gets me EVERY single time
The tradition continues....but, I LOVE how she is checking out Uncle "Quack"
My favorite picture from Memorial Day, only MY kid will find a way to eat watermelon even when she is too tired to hold it.
While we are coming on this milestone in birthdays, I wanted to share some of the things that this lil one has begun to do. As we all know she runs around every where, sometimes like a wackaloon. She loves her Shae-Shae, Pop-Pop, and Nana as those are the first 3 people she calls when she wakes up EVERY single morning. She is starting to say Jo-Jo, and now has the meow of a cat down pat. She still loves the game of "What does____ animal say," and now she loves to try to name colors of things. She loves her bubbles, but loves to swim way more. She thinks it is awesome that I run, and every time we try to go somewhere she tries to give me my running shoes NO matter where we are going. She was excited over the potty training potty, but has since lost interest. It's ok, I am just not quite ready to let her grow up yet. She now can name some Disney characters (Daisy, Pete-Pete and Minnie) but while she can say hotdog, she won't say dog (it is a woof woof). She is still the love of my life, and goes nuts whenever she sees me. I have to say that I fall in love with her more and more every day (in a way I never thought was imaginable) and EVERY single things she does, she is growing to be more and more like me. She tries to be as independent as she can be, but when she can't she'll try to let you do as little as possible to assist her. She is growing more and more into a little lady and less and less like a baby.
M, mama loves you! Icontinue to enjoy every moment of our days with you and while I want you to slow down growning up, I am loving EVERY single thing you do and love how excited you get when you are able to do something on your own. I love you today, tomorrow and always! Happy half birthday!

Hydration
With the weeks until my half coming down to being able to fit on one hand, I thought it would be better to start trying out things while running. Just like running in skirts, I don't want running while hydrating to wait until race day. So, I ran to Walmart on Friday before my 7 miler to see if they had a hand-held water bottle. They did, so I bought it. While I did not have time to fill it half way and freeze it before the run, I did fill it half full with ice cubes and then water. (I will get to my review here shortly, I promise) Anyway, since I don't take pictures while I run, here is a picture of me before 7 miles...
Anyway, I used the water bottle, and it was surprisingly easy for me to adapt. It wasn't added weight, and while it just took some time for me to figure out a way to comfortably hold it, I was glad I had it. I am glad that I am trying to figure the whole drinking while running thing out, my stomach got queasy a couple times and I am thinking that I drank too much water at one time. I also have to figure out how to ration my water, because even though I know there will be water stops along the race, my training runs do not so while training rationing is a necessity. I also need to figure out how to drink so that my stomach doesn't get queasy. So, back to my run...my water bottle only lasted for the first 3.5 miles, that explains why my first 3.5 miles were much faster than my second half. Needless to say, I have no idea what took me so long to bring water along. Well, actually I do know. I started running in September where it wasn't the dead of heat, and then that took me to winter. I guess now that I have water, I also have 5 weeks to get used to running with it, I also have 5 weeks to learn to hydrate while running so that 1- it lasts for long runs and 2- I don't get that queasy feeling anymore. VERDICT- I am glad that I asked about hydrating to all my running friends. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Here is a picture of me after 7 miles...
Why am I not smiling...here...let me show you...
And because I can't end my blog post with ugly pictures of a must needed pedicured feet...
HAPPY SATURDAY! KEEP ON RUNNING.
