It's rockstar Mickey...
Hey ya'll! Sorry, it's been so long since I have blogged, but, since it's a new month, I am hoping to get back to it. So, this is going to be a photobomb of random photos, but they all have a story behind them. Here is the long and short of it...
I downloaded a new game to my phone for Makayla to play with. It is called Rockstar Mickey. Well, you get many options, like play their version of guitar hero and make Mickey dance. Well, I also found out that you can get your photo taken with the one and only Mickey Mouse....
As you can tell, Makayla is not impressed, but I was....
Then, there is the dressing room game....see..you are able to do whatever you want to Mickey here. Makayla loves this part, but I think she likes taking pictures more. I took my phone from here when she was finished playing with the game, and this is what I found. I do have to admit...she really did have fun "dressing" Mickey...
We later found out that Mickey can also get a guitar. Makayla didn't like that part, but I am interested to see what else she changes Mickey too.
Happy March! Here's to a great "warmer" month!

5 days...
I guess things are crazy. At least I am trying to blog once a week again, instead of saying I am going to blog EVERY DAY. Even I know that that isn't practical. So, here on Mostly Wordless Wednesday, I am going to overload you with photos of Makayla because well we all need something to smile at right?!?!
So, my brother in law got Makayla a car just because...and not just any car...
I car that I think looks a little like a porsche...
Makayla had to help put it together. "Me do daddy, me do!" Over and over she repeated...
Right after this picture was taken she had a heart to heart with me. "Mommy, get in, I drive you shopping." "Makayla, mommy doesn't fit." Makayla got out of her car, and said "Mommy, get in, we go shopping, and I push." Oh girlfriend, how much I love that you love to spend time with me. I can't wait for many more adventures with you. Happy Wednesday!

Chicago
Once upon a time there was this trip to Chicago. It seems like so long ago, but really, it was only last week. A lot has changed in the last week, just look at the photos of the Jersey Shore. Anyway, before Sandy hit, we were having a grand ole time in Chicago. Wait, even after Sandy hit and we were temporarily stuck in Chicago we had a grand time. As you know we went there for my nephew's baptism. My sister Rockle was there so go visit her blog for some awesome photos. Anyway, I am not as camera literate as both of my sisters are, but here are some photos from the post-baptism meal.
I have no idea if he knew I was taking this picture, I think there were others taking photos at the same time.
I just love how Joey is truly enjoying the ice cream! It was as sweet as he is.
Anyway, after the meal, we practically had the entire day left. Since we didn't know yet that our flight was delayed, I am sure the kids were enjoying their last full day together.
She drives the car with one leg, the other leg is just relaxing...
Pure joy here in driving the tractor, or was it his Phillies hat?!?!
Shae is not really used to driving the tractor, this is her concentrating on not getting eaten by that bush
And yet, amongst all the chaos, I found a rose still blooming. Oh Chicago, you never cease to amaze me.
That is is for today, I will post more pictures tomorrow. Happy Monday!

How an awesome day got even awesomer
So, after the baseball game on Saturday and M enjoying it, I was excited and nervous all at the same time. We haven't been to the beach in almost a year, and I wasn't quite sure how M would do. So, at 530 this morning I took this picture...
Sorry about the photo quality, I don't know how to use the flash on my iPhone. Anyway, she kept saying "go Mama go." I guess she couldn't wait to get there either. She slept most of the way down there, and when she was awake she wanted to watch Rocket (Little Einsteins). While I love having the ability of watching Disney Junior shows on my iPhone, it has reaffirmed the need for a portable dvd player and Little Einsteins videos when we fly to Chicago. But, that is an adventure for another day. Anyway, in less than 2 hours we were at the beach. Tell me this isn't an awesome view...We were like the 3rd car of people there. With a view like this, and weather like we had today, it reaffirmed my love for the beach and my need to go there more often. Hmm, random road trips coming anyway.
Here is the first picture I took of the day, when M was going for a walk with my mom.
Guess it was safe to say that she loved it. She always needed her "dig" to go with her wherever she went. Of course, being there since 8 am led to needing to eat. So, when she wasn't digging somewhere, or rolling around in the sand and getting covered head to toe, I was able to get her to sit down to eat, of course, in "Mama seat."
I couldn't get her to nap, and she wasn't really fussy. She just wanted me for everything. When it was time to leave, I was able to rinse her off and get her changed. She said she wanted her seat, I put her in her car seat, and before we even left our parking spot this is what I saw.
I guess you could say she had an awesome day. But, that was only half of it for me. Before all of this cuteness was captured, I took this picture...
I just thought it was a nice picture, and now, it has more meaning. My cousin went with us to the beach. Him and I used to spend time together when we were both younger, we just hung out. Went to lunch, made fun of people, you know silly stuff. Anyway, I don't see him that often because he is busy being a college junior and swimmer and working and you know living life. Anyway, there was a person at the beach that I perceived myself as looking like. It's a long story, and writing this is helping me admit that I have low self-esteem issues. Anyway, I asked him if he saw me that same way. Now, he is not one to lie. If you ask him a question he is uncomfortable with, he either laughs when you ask it or he quickly changes the subject. Well, when I first asked the question, he without hesitation said, "No, you don't look like that. Not at all. You look really good. Much better than you used too." He then continued, "Whatever it is that you are doing it, keep it up!" While he has no idea how much hearing that meant to me, or how hearing that helped push me through this little funk, his words re-energized me.
Later, on the way home, he was looking at Runner's World Magazine and saw this add for people hiking through the desert. He started laughing, and when I asked him what he was laughing at he said, "I don't know. For some reason, I can picture you running this." I laughed, he has no idea that doing an ultra (maybe not running through a desert) is on my bucket list.
Thank you cuz! You really helped make an awesome day awesomer and you really made me feel like all of this running, these early morning trips to the gym, all this stuff is actually working and maybe, while I cannot see it because I am so critical of myself other people can see it. People who I never would have known noticing actually are noticing. Maybe just maybe, one day I will be comfortable in my skin again?!?! Wow!
Speaking of that, I am almost half way through my August Ab Challenge. I took a picture when I started and I will take one half way through and then at the end. Here's hoping that I will even see changes. In the meantime, I have to remember this...

Friday and Saturday fun...

So, that night a friend of mine had baseball tickets available to see the IronPigs. I was super excited, I had only been to one other game so far this year, and that is totally a shame! Anyway, we went and I think Makayla had a lot of fun. Here, you tell me what you think.
She wanted to sit in her own seat, with a little help from me.
This was her hat, and she wouldn't let me forget it.
Anyway we made it until the 7th inning and she was getting restless and tired so we left. While I took this photo because I thought it was cool, I had no idea that right after we left the heavens would open up and unleash more of Mother Nature's fury.
Still, it was awesome, I just wish we would have gone to more games, and maybe each year we can go to as many games as Makayla is old. Last year we went to 1, this year 2. Haha, and I thought I was so smart. Anyway, that is how my weekend started, I can't wait to tell you had it ended.

What's a girl to do?!?!
Never thought I would have this dilemma, and I think it is kind of awesome to actually have it. How can a dilemma be cool, well, when the dilemma comes to which 1/2 marathon to race I think it's kinda funny that I have so many options. This is where my dilemma begins...I am already committed to the Runner's World Half Marathon in mid-Oct, ok, no dilemma there. I was thinking about running the Lehigh Valley Via 1/2 Marathon in early Sept, but yesterday at therapy, the Physical Therapist Intern told me about an awesome race in OCNJ the last Sunday in Sept. That would give me 2 weeks to recover for my next 1/2, which I know is doable, I just don't know if I am physically able to do it. But, that would be an awesome quest for me. What that also means is I might pass on doing a triathlon this summer (because of the 2 1/2s in within 2 weeks) but add more 5ks and 10ks into the mix. While my life will still go on even if I don't do the 2 1/2 marathons, I don't want to wonder could I either.
Oh, yeah therapy...my physical therapist told me to run 7 miles this weekend...yahoo! It feels so good to be told to just run 7 miles. So, here's to healing, and 7 miles pain free, and trying to figure out what my plan of running will be.
Happy Thursday!

Back to reality
I don't really know what else to title this. The beautiful weekend is over, and we were greeted with rain on this Monday. What a way to start the week! So, I spent all weekend praying for nice weekend and we got it! I also spent some alone time praying that joining this specific gym is the right choice, and for me it was. So today, went I went to the gym to work out, (still keeping it light, but trying to get back into it and I start physical therapy tomorrow) and of course I knew I wanted to do cardio. When I walked in, I noticed that the movie cardio room had Miracle as the movie of the day. I HAD to go in there. I got so lost in the movie (I LOVE IT!!) that I ended up cycling for an hour! I rode for 10.5 miles...I really only planned on cycling for 20 minutes, but whatever..it still felt good. So, when joining the gym, I also got to sign M up for daycare at the gym, so I can still work a sweat while M gets to "work out" at daycare.
Yesterday, my grandmother's pool was opened. Apparently, I missed the actual opening process because I had to work, but it was opened none the less by the time I got off of work. And who couldn't wait to get in...

She LOVED it! While the water was cold...65 degrees, it couldn't keep my niece Shae it. Had it been warmer both outside and water temp, I am sure that Makayla would have been in it because I am sure she would have made sure that I was in it. I am excited to see what the summer brings us, and what photos my sister R took yesterday, and once I learn how to pack EVERYTHING including the camera for this summer, I can't wait to capture every.single moment.
Happy Monday ya'll!

What I ate Friday
I have decided that quite possibly I don't enough calories in the morning for breakfast. I am not going to over indulge, I just think I need more. I found this awesome, yummy recipe and I made it today. I didn't take any pictures, but if I make it tomorrow I will just to share.
It's called easy mug eggs..
You take 1 12 oz coffee mug and spray it with nonstick cooking spray
Add 2 eggs and 2 Tbsp milk
Mix together and then put in microwave for 45 seconds.
Mix again and microwave another 30-45 seconds (I did 45 seconds)
Then you are supposed to top it with 2 Tbsp of shredded cheese and salt and pepper. I added a dash of pepper, no salt and maybe 1 Tbsp of shredded cheese.
Let me just tell you, it was the easiest tastiest breakfast yet.
I also added 2 pieces of thin wheat bread and I feel like I have eaten enough now to make it to lunch time.
According to my pal Hal, today is a rest day. So, I am going to do housework and homework. Have a great Friday!

New Bathtub
Since the move that happened 2 weeks ago, my daughter loves taking a bath. No seriously, she really does. I am not sure if it is because she is no longer in a baby tub, or because she is starting to develop or own personality, or well a combo of the 2, but let me just tell you how happy she gets when I tell her it's time to take a bath and to go to Makayla's bathroom. I mean come on, how many 14 month olds get their own bathroom! So, when I tell her it's time for a bath, she runs into her bathroom and stares directly at the faucet wondering why the water isn't coming out yet. Then, when it is time to get in it, she has a fit like she is in her own little swimming pool. Well, I guess to her it is. So, without further ado...

Spring
Today is the second day of spring, and what do I wake up too? Snow! I don't know about you, but I am so over wintertime. The weekend was beautiful, Makayla and I did lots of walking, a prep for what is to come when I go to work 3-11. It's not the best shift, but, it is what I need to do for my family. I found the good things that come with working it, and Makayla and I will get a lot of time together...like we used to. Also this weekend, I found out that I got into graduate school! It will be a lot of hard work, with now having to balance work, being a mom, school and home life, but, I know I can do it. When we aren't busy at work, and all the work is done, I can do some of my school work there. I can also come home and do work for a little before going to bed, but I also know I can't stay up long because my sweet little babes wakes up no later than 730. Hope you guys have a great day! It's Monday, but hopefully spring is around the corner.
But, here is a picture to remind us that spring is around the corner. This is from my parents' garden.

Why...
Hubs and I were having a chat on the way home today. Nothing unusual, unless you look at the topic.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?
Why are packages traveling by car called a shipment, and by a boat cargo?
Why does a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance?
That is all we talked about so far...what thoughts do you have?
Hope your Sunday went well. Here's to a good week!
