On this day...

I married by best friend.

One year ago, Penguin and I tied the knot. It was exactly 3 years that day that we were dating. It was the happiest day of my life. I felt absolutely beautiful.


It has been a great year, although I can't believe it has only been a year. Wow how much has changed. I can't say I pictured us to be where we are today, but this woman has no complaints. It has been an interesting ride, but a ride I wouldn't change for the world. For better or for worse, thick and thin, you are the person that I know will always be there for me. When the world seems to be pissing on me, I know I can count on you to grab the urinal ;)

You are my best friend. You always bring out the best in me, and always make me smile. You make me feel like I am always young at heart. You make me forget about the stresses in life, and I feel safest when I am in your arms. I know I can always count on you to make me smile.

As we begin the next year of our life, I know that it is going to bring us great changes. Our daughter will always see the love we have for each other, and while it will not always be roses, there has to be a thorn now and then to protect the roses, and to slow us down so that we savor the moments. So, not only today, but everyday, I want you to know how much I love you and how much you mean to me. You are my one and only Yankee (wink, wink). Thanks for a great year, here's to many many more.

Today, my friend Tina is getting married. It is the first wedding that Penguin and I are going to since our own. I wish I could ask for nice weather, but it is already raining. Ironically, that is supposed to be good luck (although I would have been very upset had it rained on my wedding day). Anyway, I wish her and her soon to be hubby the best of luck. I wish them a lifetime of happiness and love! So, in keeping with the marriage theme, here are some pics from our wedding, and hopefully they aren't duplicates.

Wedding Photos

This picture is my dress, my flowers and my shoes. There will be a better pic of the shoes later.

Here is a picture of my shoes. They made me feel tall. Now, if only my feet were narrower, or the shoes wider, we wouldn't have had any problems.

Here is a cool picture. It is our invitation, my flowers and our rings, all squashed together into one pic.

The last picture for this morning is one of my favorites. I am skipping ahead past the getting ready to the pictures we took at my folks house. The photographer really captured my niece's beauty in this picture, so much so that they too will be using it on their website.

That is it for now. I am off to deal with the SSI office, and then try to head to the DMV. I will hopefully post some more pictures this afternoon.

I can't believe it..

Today is exactly 2 weeks...

2 weeks until my STBH and I are husband and wife

2 weeks until my life is changed for the better

2 weeks until penguin is no longer my fiance and now my husband

2 weeks until I marry my best friend

I am so excited, I can't wait. I am looking forward to sharing pictures with you all. Please pray for us during the next 2 weeks that everything gets completed, that we have nice weather and that Penguin and I fall deeper in love with each other than we are now.

June 13th

So, with less than 2 months until I change my last name, I just wanted to let you know kinda how my calendar looks. Ok, so first things first... just about every week from now until the wedding I am working 5 days a week. Yep that is right, I said 5 days a week. It is either 3 12s and 2 8s or 4 12s and 1 8 or some variety of the situation. The end of June, the 27th to be exact is my wedding shower. Sometime after July 8th, Penguin and I will be going for our marriage license. Saturday July 11th is our cake tasting and hopefully decision process. July 14th is my final meeting with the florist, and sometime in there will also be the final meeting with the photographer. (I only say sometime bc that is on my to do list for today). Really, I am not nervous yet...I just have to finish paying on the things that owe money, decide on a favor, and start purchasing the stuff for my center pieces. Really, I don't think that is too bad. Oh, I also need an aisle runner and a garter...hmpf. Well that is it for now. Have a great Saturday!

WOW

Next week is the end of May...what does that mean...MY WEDDING IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER! Holy moly Batman! So much to do and so little time. Wedding invitations go out this week, and then it is down to buying a strapless bra, and paying everyone else off. I better look into the honeymoon stuff or we won't be having one...argh...
