It's all happening...

Yeah, I admit it. I have not been blogging like I used to. Hopefully, this will be the start of something new. Things have been crazy busy around the igloo, and I hope to be able to share some of that with you soon. I believe I will be relying on this blog more in the coming days, but again, this is my outlet right?!? Anyway, the latest in the igloo is that I am working a lot. Not a lot a lot, but enough that I am trying to put some money away and not need it. That is always the catch. I am currently able to put money in savings, then something comes up and I need to borrow from it. I wish either I could go without eating (just kidding) or that groceries would be cheaper (so not kidding here). Anyway, besides that Penguin and I are getting ready to move next week, we actually pick up the keys this Saturday and to say that we haven't started packing is an understatement. We.have.not.packed.a.thing. No, scratch that, I have packed the linen closest because apparently to me, that is a must do. So between work and sleep I need to go to my parents house and get some boxes. It won't really take a long time to pack, it's just getting started that is the problem. Once I get started I know it won't take me long. Then it's the moving and the cleaning of the current apartment and making sure that maintenance can fix the things in the current apartment so that we don't lose our security deposit. Penguin and I are hoping that this is our last move, unless of course we get a house by the end of next year. Again, just put that in the way back burner for now. Nothing else is really going on right now, just excited about moving and helping my folk's watch my nephew for a couple of days while they are in town. Life is kinda hectic right now, but I hope my readers (if there are any out there) haven't given up on me yet. I hope to make this a regular thing, even if it is just a line to let you know that I am alive. So please, bear with me and I promise, hopefully soon there will be more to read about.

Happy Mother's Day!

To all of the mothers out there and to all my blog readers who are moms, I am wishing you the happiest and healthiest mother's day you can have! See, I even baked for the occassion...

I found these Easy Write food markers by Betty Crocker and thought I would give them a try. Glad I don't have to write for a living!
Hope you have a great day!

Diamonds

They are a girls best friend. Tell me one girl that doesn't like diamonds? Anyone, one of the awesome blogs that I read regularly is hosting a diamond giveaway. Yep, that is right. Diamond earrings. Her giveaway is sponsored by Kohls, and she is lucky to be giving away beautiful diamond earrings. Nothing says hello summer than brand new diamonds. Don't believe me, go ahead and take a look at Suburban Housewife in training's blog and enter the giveaway! Don't expect me to sit here and wait for you...I am entering it myself! Good luck!

Happy Birthday!!!

To my eldest sister,
Today is your birthday. I hope that you have a great day! I know that there were times in life that we agreed to disagree. Just know that I have always looked up to you. As another year comes to an end, and a new one starts I want you to know how proud of you I am. How much your precious daughter is like you every day, how much she loves you and how much we all can tell you love her. May you find God's blessings today, as you do everyday, and may they help you find the happiness you deserve. Happy birthday sis! Go ahead, celebrate. You deserve it!

We love you!

MIA

I know I haven't posted in a while. Nothing much is going on here, except the sometimes feelings of hopelessness. I know that everyone has these feelings, I am not saying I am depressed, just a little blue. There is no reason, nothing that I can think of anyway, just right now how I feel. Here is a picture I took today right before my first real run. It was my first run off of the treadmill and I thought it was going to kill me. I know that it will get easier, I just hope it hurries the heck up.

So, this is my attempt at being silly. Yes, those are soccer socks, yes, I am playing again although I don't start until end of May, yes I know I have my work cut out for me and yes, I know I have lots more weight to lose.

Here is a picture from my bike ride the other day. My friend Grace and I attempted to ride at Monocacy Park before we realized you couldn't. Anyway, here is a picture of the waterfall, that my sister Rockle and her husband had their wedding photo taken in front of I think 11 years ago.

That's all I have today. That's it. I am hopefully getting out of this apartment and going to see one of my friends, but then I will come back here and do lots of wifely duties. Oh, and FYI hubs and I are moving officially June 1st to a 2 bedroom apartment in the same complex. We get the keys May 15th so that we can start moving stuff in and so that we have time to clean this one and everything. Hopefully, this means better things.

Running Tuesday

Today is running Tuesday. I am going to start keeping up with the Jones per Se, except that I am keeping up with Skinny Runner. Tuesdays for her are Running Tuesday, and I get jealous of where she gets to run. So, here is my version...

While I wish I would get to run here....

Instead I get to run here

(I like how it looks like no one is even running here, and I like how the TV screens are so large. I wish my LA Fitness looked like this one.)
Hopefully today I will get in 2 miles, but I am also going to start focusing on some weight training. Not necessarily to bulk up, but to start to tone my muscles.

And, like Skinny Runner (who I apologize I don't even know her real name) always asks, where are you running today?

Camping

In 3 short months our family will be reuniting at one of our favorite past times. We will be coming from near and far and meeting at one special location. We will swim to an island, go to the rec barn for some shuffle board, swim of the rocks, go to Foxy's and eat mud pies, heck we might even go to see Boldt castle. All of this and more, while we are doing this...

Yep, we will be camping! We love it. We used to do it all the time, then as we grew up we stopped going. Hoping this year will rekindle the magic of said camping. Oh, and yep, I am ready. I have the tents up airing out and making sure that there are no leaks or rips. We already got rid of one tent because it had seen better days. I will be sleeping in one of the tents tomorrow, I figured since the tents were up, I might as well enjoy their company.
