Feeling a wee bit Irish

This past weekend in the town where we live was
Yep, Celtic Classic. This was it's 23th year, and my first time attending. Man, I had no idea what I was missing out on! It is an opportunity for celebrating Celtic heritage, and it wasn't even St Patrick's day! There were street vendors, contests and great food! It was an ideal opportunity for grown men to dress up
and embrace their culture fully...
The hubs even embraced his heritage.

Wait, I mean became completely enveloped into his culture...
Yes, that is a skirt, umm wait a kilt. I think everyone had a great time. My hubsband's step mother in law even wanted to pose with a wino...

And the hub's niece D, even had a good time.

All in all I say it was a success. We ended up going more than once (the hubs wanted another reason to wear his kilt) and we are planning on going next year. Hopefully our babes will enjoy it as much as we do!

How far along? ~ 27 weeks
Total weight gain or loss? ~ Currently sitting at 7 pounds lost which means 8 pounds gained. Will officially know tomorrow at the doctor's appointment.
Maternity clothes? ~ Yes and no. I wear sweat pants when not going to work(they are comfy) and since my mom gave me an awesome box of maternity clothes, I wear them. and I have always worn my shirts big. I am starting to wear some maternity tops, they just seem to be longer Also hoping to get some things this weekend, maybe from Kohl's or Baby Depot.
Stretch marks? ~ Yes, they are faint, but I am faithfully applying that cream that my sister J gave me.
Sleep?~ Is now a problem, although since the hubs (yes he is awesome) bought me a body pillow, sleep is getting better.
Best moment this week? ~Realizing that I am in the third trimester! WOW! Time flies!
Movement? ~ Yes. Little miss loves it when I scrub in the OR. She seems to like that she can kick me and I can't rub her back.
Food cravings? ~None, haven't really had any at all so far this pregnancy. Hubs still has them, does that count?
Gender? ~ A precious little Daddy's little Girl
Labor signs? ~NO...little Femia, please just keep growing. k thanks. Love, mom
Belly button in or out? ~In....
Wedding rings on or off? ~On, although they seem to be a little big.
What I miss? ~Being able to eat whatever I want without worrying how it is going to affect the babes.
What I am looking forward too? ~Getting to meet her, although no rush, Christmas comes right after she does
Weekly wisdom? ~Enjoy every moment, this pregnancy will sure to go by fast
Weekly milestone? ~Making it another week...and into another trimester
I believe I read that Femia is the size of an eggplant this week.
Next month err um in 2 weeks is our breast feeding class, stay tuned for that. That class is followed up by our 1 day a week for 4 weeks series on Lamaze. Goodness only knows what kind of blogging that will lead too.

Opinions...

Everyone has them. Trust me, I hear them all the time. I just wonder why some people pick the workplace as their opportunity to stand on a soap box, wait, make that two soap boxes and proceed to talk to you for 40 minutes about their opinions. Do I want to go to work to be educated, yes, but do you need to tell me that you think a surgeon is a bad one just because he doesn't use a particular type of glove? Is that glove company giving you a kick-back because you are 100% behind them? Maybe the surgeon doesn't like the way that type of glove feels when he is doing surgery. Maybe he has a million other reasons, did you ask? No, you just stereo-typed him to make your miserable day even more miserable. Thanks so much for making my day miserable too! And if you feel so strongly about not using a certain type of glove, do the research, write it up, give it you management. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! Don't just tell me! What the heck do you want me to do with this information. Well, maybe you got me to do what you want. I don't know. I don' t use that type of glove that you despise so much because I don't like how they make my hands feel. But, I am not going to go on and on for 20 minutes about the gloves unless you ASKED me my opinion. You hear me! If I asked for your input it is a different story, however, I never asked. So, next time you want to tell someone about the type of glove they should be using, why not ask them what type they use and why before you go off on a tangent. Next time, maybe that someone will care. Oh, and for the record...I don't think that Doc is a bad doctor, maybe if you weren't so miserable you would see that!

Sleeepless nights

This must be part of the pregnancy that people have been telling me about. The nights when I don't sleep through the night getting myself ready for when the baby arrives. Which, leads me to absence on here. It's not that I want to not blog, I love blogging. I love sharing all the stories of my pregnancy with you guys just as much as I love reading about the happenings in your lives. However, that leads me to the current situation. I am ready for bed much earlier than I used to be. MUCH earlier, like 8 pm early. Which, is where I am headed as soon as I finish writing. I just finished the homework I had to do for work, thought I would quick stop by and head to bed. I will have my nighttime snack, get up to pee and then have my bedtime insulin and then go back to bed for the night. I am hoping that tonight only leads to one trip to the restroom, and sleep until at least 1. Last night, I was asleep until 11, woke up again at 1, peed and then tossed and turned until the alarm at 5:15. While I am functioning ok with the minimal sleep, I would love to get more sleep. Like the one night when I went to bed at 8:30pm and slept soundly until 7:30 am. I know those nights won't come often, but man..this girl is going to dream.

The Absent Minded Professor

Sorry guys. I know I was gone for a while, but I am back...and this time nothing should be standing in my way. As you know, in June I started a new job. Who would have thought that this job required me to go back to "school." Right before I went on my family vacation was a mid-term exam, and here it is Sept and I had a final. When I say final exam, I am not kidding. We were give 4 hours to write up a surgery from a circulating and a scrub nurse perspective. I took 3 hours, and 14.5 double typed pages! Now, all we have is clinical where we get our hands on exposure to what our job really entails. What does that mean...NO MORE studying, and MORE blogging. There is so much I want to blog about, now I have the time. In the meantime, I have to go. I have work today. I wanna show you guys pictures of what I am making for Christmas presents...yes...only 16 weeks until Christmas! HAPPY FRIDAY!
