Fountains

So, yes, I know that this blog has been neglected, and I know that I am terrible at photo journaling my time with Makayla, but it is better to be a part of the moment sometimes than to stand by and capture them. My good friend Stef (who I haven't seen in a long time) wanted to meet up, so we headed over to the Promenade shops, where they have a jet park. I haven't even been there, but I figured what the heck, it's going to be a hot one right. We arrived a little early, hoping for a good parking spot, and we couldn't have asked for a better one. Makayla didn't really know what to think at first....

But, once she saw how much fun Stef's daughter was having, she couldn't wait to join in.

 I cannot wait until next week when we go again. Hopefully different photos and the same results, sheer joy and happiness. Who would have known that a free water jet park would be so much fun?!? And why didn't I know about this sooner?

 

Back to reality

I don't really know what else to title this. The beautiful weekend is over, and we were greeted with rain on this Monday. What a way to start the week! So, I spent all weekend praying for nice weekend and we got it! I also spent some alone time praying that joining this specific gym is the right choice, and for me it was. So today,went I went to the gym to work out, (still keeping it light, but trying to get back into it and I start physical therapy tomorrow) and of course I knew I wanted to do cardio. When I walked in, I noticed that the movie cardio room had Miracle as the movie of the day. I HAD to go in there. I got so lost in the movie (I LOVE IT!!) that I ended up cycling for an hour! I rode for 10.5 miles...I really only planned on cycling for 20 minutes, but whatever..it still felt good. So, when joining the gym, I also got to sign M up for daycare at the gym, so I can still work a sweat while M gets to "work out" at daycare.

Yesterday, my grandmother's pool was opened. Apparently, I missed the actual opening process because I had to work, but it was opened none the less by the time I got off of work. And who couldn't wait to get in...

She LOVED it! While the water was cold...65 degrees, it couldn't keep my niece Shae it. Had it been warmer both outside and water temp, I am sure that Makayla would have been in it because I am sure she would have made sure that I was in it. I am excited to see what the summer brings us, and what photos my sister R took yesterday, and once I learn how to pack EVERYTHING including the camera for this summer, I can't wait to capture every.single moment.

The Continued Adventures of My Little Mermaid

Memorial Day came and it was a Hot! Hot like 100 degrees hot. So, taking Makayla outside was for limited time. So, I wanted to see how Makayla would do in the pool after the previous 2 days. From these pictures tell me what you think. I cannot take credit for the pictures, my mom took them.

It's Friday!

The weather lately has been beautiful! Absolutely beautiful! I love the summer. It means Makayla and I get out more, which, is good for my sanity. She loves being outside. Today, I took advantage of her being tired and walked for almost 2 hours. Micki and Archie walked with us, and it was nice. It kept me moving!
And while it may look like she is disinterested, she is sleeping. She fell asleep 10 minutes into the walk and lasted almost the entire walk. When she woke up she was happy!
It is not surprising that she woke up happy, she generally is, she just woke up and started chatting and I couldn't help but laugh.

Just keep swimming

This weekend, my niece Peanut has pretty much braved swimming without the bubble. In fact, she did some swimming without anything. I can't believe how big she is getting.

Our house

is a very very very fine house. Well except that it is not a house and currently there are boxes EVERYWHERE! In time, hopefully the boxes will be gone so that we have time to organize and downsize and get rid of what we don't need. In the meantime, the boxes make their presence known and I am not liking it, not.at.all. On a better note, my nephew Joey is in visiting for the weekend and I can see him and Shae causing all kinds of mischief. I won't get to see them today because I have to work, and quite frankly get more sleep, but there will be plenty of photo opportunities on Sunday. Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Our bags are packed

we're ready to go...well actually just ready to leave the old place. My dad, my cousin Brian aka Commander and the Princess came by today. I think it took 3 truck trips and lots of packing, but I believe everything is out of the old place and now in the new place. It will take days to get unpacked, but it's OK. We can take like 5 boxes a day and unpack them. This way we won't be overwhelmed. Penguin is going to the old place tomorrow to clean and run the vacuum and paint the doors where the dogs scratched the paint away. Hopefully Friday he will be able to run the carpet shampooer and then I think we will be done. I will probably do one last check of the apartment over the weekend, and then we will turn in the keys on June first. Finally, the end of one adventure and the beginning of a new one. My sister J is coming in this weekend for her college reunion which means my folks get to watch my nephew. Well, actually I think my niece will be watching him..after all he is her best friend. Anyway, I hope to take lots of pictures this weekend. Hope everyone has a great Memorial day!
