Friday and Saturday fun...

So, as you may or may not know, we were supposed to go to the beach on Friday. We didn't however because mother nature had other plans. It was still a nice day off, we hung out at my folks house, well until Makayla needed to nap. We came home, and she napped for 3 hours. While it wasn't the day we had planned, it was still a nice break from the 4 day work week. Saturday was also a relaxed day. I ran 5 miles with my BCR friends, and while out of no where I had an odd twinge in my leg, I ran with a great running partner and she helped me get through the run.  Thanks again April! After running we went to breakfast, and while it wasn't the best service, you really can't help enjoy yourself with this group of people.

So, that night a friend of mine had baseball tickets available to see the IronPigs. I was super excited, I had only been to one other game so far this year, and that is totally a shame! Anyway, we went and I think Makayla had a lot of fun. Here, you tell me what you think.
She wanted to sit in her own seat, with a little help from me.

This was her hat, and she wouldn't let me forget it.

Anyway we made it until the 7th inning and she was getting restless and tired so we left. While I took this photo because I thought it was cool, I had no idea that right after we left the heavens would open up and unleash more of Mother Nature's fury.

Still, it was awesome, I just wish we would have gone to more games, and maybe each year we can go to as many games as Makayla is old.  Last year we went to 1, this year 2. Haha, and I thought I was so smart. Anyway, that is how my weekend started, I can't wait to tell you had it ended.

Back to reality

I don't really know what else to title this. The beautiful weekend is over, and we were greeted with rain on this Monday. What a way to start the week! So, I spent all weekend praying for nice weekend and we got it! I also spent some alone time praying that joining this specific gym is the right choice, and for me it was. So today, went I went to the gym to work out, (still keeping it light, but trying to get back into it and I start physical therapy tomorrow) and of course I knew I wanted to do cardio. When I walked in, I noticed that the movie cardio room had Miracle as the movie of the day. I HAD to go in there. I got so lost in the movie (I LOVE IT!!) that I ended up cycling for an hour! I rode for 10.5 miles...I really only planned on cycling for 20 minutes, but whatever..it still felt good. So, when joining the gym, I also got to sign M up for daycare at the gym, so I can still work a sweat while M gets to "work out" at daycare.

Yesterday, my grandmother's pool was opened. Apparently, I missed the actual opening process because I had to work, but it was opened none the less by the time I got off of work. And who couldn't wait to get in...
She LOVED it! While the water was cold...65 degrees, it couldn't keep my niece Shae it. Had it been warmer both outside and water temp, I am sure that Makayla would have been in it because I am sure she would have made sure that I was in it. I am excited to see what the summer brings us, and what photos my sister R took yesterday, and once I learn how to pack EVERYTHING including the camera for this summer, I can't wait to capture every.single moment.

Happy Monday ya'll!

Wednesday

Today is Ash Wednesday, and I have to say that for the first time in many years I was at Mass. Not just any Mass, but Mass at 0830..do you have any idea how hard that is to get out of the house and to Church at 0830 with a 14 month old?! I have a lot of respect for my parents who did it with 3 children. Anyway, Makayla was good, she read her Bible, didn't fuss too much, but after the Gospel had had enough. Thankfully, Pop-Pop was there too and he kept her occupied. Because I can, here is a picture from yesterday, when she just HAD to wear my glasses...

January was a good month for me at the gym. I went 12 times, and even made their "awesome" wall. If I can keep it up for 10/12 months, I get a shirt at the end.

I won't get 12 times in this month, but...I am allowed to miss 2 months. So, my goal is to get in as many 12 months sessions as I can in the remaining 10 months ( I only need 8/month to get my insurance to pay for the membership). I know I can do that.
This is my 3rd week of my half marathon training. I have 9 weeks until I ever run a race at 13.1 miles. That distance seems so far away right now, but I know I can do it. If you follow me on twitter/facebook you get to see my workouts posted there. I don't do anything special, I just follow Hal Higdon's novice half marathon training and just tweek it when I have too. But, here is the biggest news. This October will be the First Ever Runner's World Half Marathon in Bethlehem and yours truly signed up to race in! I cannot believe that I did it, but I just signed up for my second half marathon! I wanted to be part of something special, and since this is the First ever and they are expecting 6000 runners, I knew I had to be a part of it. So stay tuned for the many adventures I have ahead of me with training for my first half, to then the adventures of training for my second, and all the stuff in between. Hang on, I am sure it is going to be a bumpy ride!
