It all happened at the zoo..

Well, or fair, or carnival or where ever else you were this weekend. Welcome back to the work week! I am sure you missed it, I know I did (not!). Anyway, I know I haven't blogged in a while and I want to start again, so I thought I would start with posting pictures from this weekend. Now my sister Rachel, over on her blog, usually ends up posting pictures of my daughter from events.  I have to get better at carrying my camera to capture these moments, but sometimes, I am just living in the moments with her. Anyway, Friday we went to the Nazareth Carnival with her Godmother and her son. Here are some pictures from that.

Let me just tell you, I COULD NOT get her to get off of the Carousel!

Look at how much fun she is having! Last year when we went on vacation, she hated rides...this year...she <3 them.
Saturday, was her Godfather's graduation party from college. Yes, he graduated a while ago, but he wanted to wait until his friends who went to China came home. Anyway, I don't have pictures from there to post, as I am sure my sister took a bazillion pictures, but I do have this one.
Yep, that is my kid and yes, she is cleaning a boat!
Anyway, happy Monday. I better get ready for work, and yes, I was supposed to get up at 4:30 to go to the gym, but I thought sleep was more important. Have a GREAT Monday!

18 months

I cannot believe that my sweet lil lady is 18 months old today! Where did time go?!?! So, while I took an unintended hiatus from blogging (I haven't been able to run, so I didn't feel the need to blog) I did take some pictures of my daughter. I really need to carry my camera around more so that I don't share all of my photos on fb and/or instagram before I post them here. I do have some running updates and will resume blogging normally tomorrow (hopefully) but, in the meantime, here are some pictures of my sleeping pumpkin, and not so sleeping pumpkin.

Yes, she is wearing Philadelphia sports swag, and no I didn't dress her, YES, her FATHER put her in this outift

Bath time is one of her favorite times...

Checking out flowers
This cover-up gets me EVERY single time

The tradition continues....but, I LOVE how she is checking out Uncle "Quack"

My favorite picture from Memorial Day, only MY kid will find a way to eat watermelon even when she is too tired to hold it.

While we are coming on this milestone in birthdays, I wanted to share some of the things that this lil one has begun to do. As we all know she runs around every where, sometimes like a wackaloon. She loves her Shae-Shae, Pop-Pop, and Nana as those are the first 3 people she calls when she wakes up EVERY single morning. She is starting to say Jo-Jo, and now has the meow of a cat down pat. She still loves the game of "What does____ animal say," and now she loves to try to name colors of things. She loves her bubbles, but loves to swim way more. She thinks it is awesome that I run, and every time we try to go somewhere she tries to give me my running shoes NO matter where we are going. She was excited over the potty training potty, but has since lost interest. It's ok, I am just not quite ready to let her grow up yet. She now can name some Disney characters (Daisy, Pete-Pete and Minnie) but while she can say hotdog, she won't say dog (it is a woof woof). She is still the love of my life, and goes nuts whenever she sees me. I have to say that I fall in love with her more and more every day (in a way I never thought was imaginable) and EVERY single things she does, she is growing to be more and more like me. She tries to be as independent as she can be, but when she can't she'll try to let you do as little as possible to assist her. She is growing more and more into a little lady and less and less like a baby.

M, mama loves you! Icontinue to enjoy every moment of our days with you and while I want you to slow down growning up, I am loving EVERY single thing you do and love how excited you get when you are able to do something on your own. I love you today, tomorrow and always! Happy half birthday!

9 and a half months...

Makayla had her 9 month check up today. I will share with you her stats..
Weight 23.8 pounds. Last month 20.8 pounds, birth 8 pounds 10 oz
Length 29.5 inches. Last month 28 inches, birth 20 inches
Head circumference 18 inches, last month 17 1/4 birth 14.
She is still off of the charts on everything. She had her first flu shot today, she gets the second part in a month. I also found out today that the pediatrician's office pierces ears, so on Nov 17th, my daughter is getting her ears pierced! Just in time for Thanksgiving. We also learned that when she is 11.5  months old we lose the formula and start whole milk, but no more than 24 ounces/day. My husband will be happy to hear that, he LOVES whole milk.
I cannot believe that we scheduled her 1 year check up! Where did the time go? My little angel is almost no longer a baby :( Now, off to plan her birthday party. Happy Hump day!

Hurricane Irene

In case you missed it, we had a Hurricane this past weekend. Well, yesterday, once it passed we ventured out of the house. We went to noon mass where the Priest talked about it being a farewell to irene service. Anyway, we went to my parents house like we normally do, and hung out with Aunt Steph who was up because she got evacuated from the beach. Anyway, she took us to Buffalo Wild Wings, which is great because I had always wanted to try it. Well, the babes, she had a sweet time too. She even got to wear a crown...
She knows she's Mommy's Princess
Then today, we went to visit with a friend who we haven't seen in a while. Of course, she was asleep before we even turned off of their street.
Happy Monday! 5 days until more beach pictures!!

8 months and 2 days

Makayla turned 8 months old on Sunday. Where has the time gone? I didn't post earlier because it was Sunday, then I didn't get to do it yesterday because I had to take her to the doctor. Turns out she has the common cold. Here are some pictures of my sweet 8 month old girl.

Dear Makayla,
How quickly you are growing up and trying to be independent. The Thursday before you turned 8 months old, we went to the beach for the first time, and you loved it. Mama will post pictures of that later. You are a speed demon when it comes to crawling, and now you are trying to walk. I have a feeling that by the time we come back from vacation with the rest of the family, you will be a walker. You love your Sesame Street walker. I have to keep my eye on you every second because you are super fast. You love to stand up by pulling on things, and you get into EVERYTHING! You still love swimming, and you cannot get enough of it. Your personality is starting to show, and you are a jabbermouth. You say things like da-da, and ya-ya, but I cannot get you to say ma-ma. I guess time will come when you say that, and I cannot wait. You melt every one's heart, and you were a source of joy as we buried your great grandfather last weekend. You have the cutest smile, with your 2 little bottom teeth, and no matter how sad I feel, you always melt my heart.
You are still wearing 6-9 months clothes, although I am getting ready to wash the "next" set of clothing. In the 8 months that you have been part of my life, I cannot imagine what life was like before you. You are super smart, and try to figure out how everything works, and what everything is.

You are so much like your mama and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I love you and I cannot wait to see how much you change this next month.

xoxoxo
Mama

5 months and 2 days

This post was supposed to be done on Saturday, when she was actually 5 months old, but, with only 1 working laptop, I try not to abuse the privilege. Anyway, here are some pictures from Sat.

Makayla,
You are now 5 months old! I have no idea where time has gone, or who hit the fast forward button, but I wish they would stop hitting it. Just slow down for one second please. This past month, we started you on rice cereal for breakfast, and since it seems that you love it, we have also introduced it as part of lunch as well. Sometimes you nap, and sometimes you don't, but even when you are tired, you don't fuss. Not.at.all. You love your exersauser, and you hate laying down. You want to be sitting up or standing all the time. You love to "walk" by holding on to some one's fingers and taking a couple steps, and you try to roll over, but your bottom arm keeps slowing you down. I say bottom arm because when you roll from back to belly it depends on which way you are rolling as to which arm you get stuck on. But keep it up and you will get it! You are also trying to crawl, and yes, backwards is a direction. You seem to love Little Einsteins and The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. This past month you have celebrated your first Easter, and your my first Mother's Day. Everyday is Mother's day because you make me feel so lucky to be your mom. You still love bath time, and you are starting to snuggle with me more on your own. I don't know how much you weigh, we don't go back to the doctor's until next month, but you seem happy and healthy and that is what matters to me. We have an exciting first coming up this month, your first time in a pool, and I can't wait to document every single moment. We also have Pop-Pop's birthday. Next month you have Father's Day and your baptism, mixed in there is a doctor's appointment and Grandpa Hoole's birthday. I can't wait to continue watching you grow. And while everyone wants to pinch your cheeks, please don't mind while I sit here and just want to love on you. You have given me a new reason to live, and I can't imagine loving someone the way I love you. I love you Pumpkin!

Love,
Mommy

Makayla Update 2 months

So, yesterday Makayla had her 2 month checkup. She did great. She is weighing in at 13 pounds 12 oz 95 percentile for her weight and 24 inches again in the 95 percentile. We get to start her on rice cereal in 2 more months, after her next check up. Who can believe that my 8 pound baby is now a 12 pound girl. Where did time fly by? She is now cooing and talking and laughing, oh, and did I mention that her laugh is contagious? Anyway, just thought I would update you. Pictures soon!

2 weeks

My sweet babes is almost 2 weeks old. Can you believe it?! I can't. She will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. We went to the doctor's today for a 2 week appointment. I found out today from the nurse practitioner that baby's don't usually have a 2 week check-up. Anyway, last week she was 8 pounds 4 oz, and today...she is 8 pounds 10 oz! She is back to her birth weight. That means that she is healthy! The nurse practitioner was happy with how she looked. We chatted a little about my inability to breast feed, even though I was tearful when talking with her, she said that my baby is healthy and that is all that matters. We also discussed what we can do in the future (I know I want one more child) and how she can help get me the help I need to breast feed next time. Babes is now scheduled for her 1 month check-up! One month. I also found out that she gets shots at every visit until she is 2 years old...oh my heart will just break. Anyway, just wanted to update you on the sweet babes. She is resting now, happy to be visiting with Pop-pop, waiting for her cousin Joey to make it in from Chicago and looking forward to meeting her Aunt Jaime for the first time. Hope you all have a happy week between Christmas!

Babes update

As you may or may not know, I go to the OB twice a week. Mondays, I get an Ultrasound, then a stress test, then finally I meet with the doctor. On Thursdays, I get an ultrasound and a stress test. So, today, being Monday...I was at the OB. The babes weighed in at 7 pounds 2 oz, and I was down 2 pounds. The did the second Hep B swab and that was it. Since Thursday is a holiday, I go back at 10:30 on Friday. Then it's repeat the final week. As of right now, they are not concerned about the babes. Her ETA is still 3 weeks away (I am 36 weeks tomorrow, but since I am on insulin, 39 weeks is the longest they will let her incubate). So, yeah, that day will come sooner than later. OMG! No contractions since last Wednesday...now...off to drink more water, elevate my feet, and attend our last Lamaze class. Happy Monday!

I haven't posted anything about the babes lately, so I thought I would do this now...

How far along? ~ 18 weeks

Total weight gain or loss? ~ Currently sitting at 15 pounds lost

Maternity clothes? ~ Yes and no. I wear sweat pant material capris all the time (they are comfy) and I have always worn my shirts big. I am starting to wear some maternity tops, they just seem to be longer

Stretch marks? ~ None that I can see, but I am faithfully applying that cream that my sister
J gave me.

Sleep?~ Not really a problem, I can sleep anywhere. Only a problem if I get less than 6 hours, then I am constantly tired the next day.

Best moment this week? ~Realizing that I am almost 5 months pregnant! WOW! Time flies!

Movement? ~ Nope, although the doctor said I might start feeling some soon, if not, definitely start somewhere in the upcoming weeks.

Food cravings? ~None, haven't really had any at all so far this pregnancy. I do give in to some forbidden snacks lately, but it has only happened twice in the last month.

Gender? ~ I don't know. Some people are telling me a girl, some are telling me a boy. Only 2 more weeks until we find out.

Labor signs? ~NO...little femus, please just keep growing. k thanks. Love, mom

Belly button in or out? ~In....

Wedding rings on or off? ~On, although they will be coming off for their cleaning soon.

What I miss? ~Being able to eat whatever I want without worrying how it is going to affect the babes. Although, losing 19 pounds in 4 months...that is cool too ;)

What I am looking forward too? ~As much as I am hesitant to find out what we are having, I am looking forward to August 6th, when we find out what our little femus is. Also looking forward to feeling some movements.

Weekly wisdom? ~Enjoy every moment, this pregnancy will sure to go by fast

Weekly milestone? ~Making it another week...with a healthy femus ;)

I believe I read that Femus is the size of a bell pepper this week.
